About Allus

Welcome to Allus Netball Beverley

Allus began in 1987 under the name of Mariste with a group of friends (most still playing in the senior team) who decided to form a team to play in the Humberside County. It has had many different and unique names over the years including Hydra, Amazons and Inch but was eventually changed to Allus in 2010 to mark the addition of the junior section of the club.

Allus rose

In the beginning the junior section began with just three players in September 2010. Numbers now far exceed 80 players training and playing in the Allus colours. Although a new club Allus has gained many achievements. In 2012 Allus gained club accreditation from England Netball for bronze status and are now working towards silver and gold. In addition to this coaches at the club have been recognised locally, regionally and nationally for their commitment through winning England Netball Goalden Globes which recognise netball volunteers for their passion and dedication. These awards included a long service award, rose award for development, young volunteer award and grass-roots coach award.

The coaching team at Allus comprise of three women; Helen Smith, Jennie Simmons and Sue Simmons- with many young volunteers helping with training. The board of committee is a group of eight affiliates to Allus and is as follows: Chairperson- Helen Smith, Secretary (Senior Team)- Denise Wilkinson, Secretary (Junior Section)- Jennie Simmons, Treasurer (Senior Section)- Lynne Beadle, Treasurer and Accountant (Junior Section)- Sue Simmons, Volunteer Co-ordinator- Jennie Simmons, Child Protection Officer- Chris Calvert and Junior Representatives- Francesca Savio and Charlotte Moy.

Allus is based at Beverley Longcroft School, where training and matches take place. There is also a school-club link with Beverley Longcroft and Beverley High School as well as many primary schools in the area.
