Helen and Charlotte at the Goalden Globes

This year Helen Smith (coach) and Charlotte Moy (U16 Captain) have won a Goalden Globe for Humberside County and are now nominated for the Yorkshire Awards. The Goalden Globes are awards from England Netball for exceptional volunteers who dedicate time and effort for the good of netball.

Helen, county coach for Humberside County, has been nominated for the Grassroots coach award for her contribution to Allus since its initial establishment in 2010- helping the club develop from a senior team and 3 junior players to a 100 player strong club. In addition to this Helen has been recognised for her colossal support for the Humberside County Netball Association Talent Programme- supporting the growth of 2 development academies for year 5-7 girls amongst leading the coaching programme for the County Academy and much more.

Charlotte, who has been with Allus from its infancy, has been nominated for the Young Volunteer Award for her outstanding contribution to netball within Allus and Beverley Longcroft School. Charlotte spends an awful lot of time writing match reports, organising umpires, captaining the U16’s inferno team and helping with the coaching of younger players. In an ever expanding club, she has been vital in the success of the day-to-day running of  Allus.

The Yorkshire Regional Goalden Globes dinner and award presentation is due to take place on Friday 12th of July at the Holiday Inn in Garforth. We wish them both the best at this presentation and cannot think of anyone more deserving for these accolades!
